Each location represents a possible help from abroad. According to that choice, additionnal unit and supply can be received. The french army will collapse (50% shock if Le Mans is taken). The same will happen if Naoned or Roaon is taken. The game will end if Henbont of Paris is threatened. Storms can occasionnaly happen. 'Historical' background This scenario is set up in my own alternate history world, in which Turkey and Russia are major powers and Western Europe a backwater third world. More details on Geocities/Athens/Crete/4060 The end of of Ledavian civil war and the religious compromise which followed was considered as a treachery by neighbouring hard liner christian countries. They broke off diplomatic relationships with the breton kingdom and began massing troops on the border. During the following eight years tension slowly increased and incidents, often bloody, got multipliated. England and France have vowed to restore the official christianism, but have failed so far to agree upon a formal alliance. In 1920, however, the new french king, order his army to be massed on the western borders , without english support. Bluff or preparation for war ? The ledavian high command does not know, but it prefers not to take risk and strikes first. Notes : It is a WWW I scenario, so expect slow progress and huge loss. the use of artillery to prepare offensive is paramount. The ledavian army is notably superior in quality, but it does not mean the war is won for it. French resistance can be very stiff and additionnal reinforcement can change the balance. |
