WAR IN THE WESTVersion 2.0 Best played as 2 player. May be played as either Axis or Allied Player verses computer. 1. Note My earlier attempt to present this scenerio was flawed. There was a major computer glitch, that could not be overcome by re-editing the scenerio. The 2.0 version has been completely redone and is in essence a whole new scenerio. There have been many changes to this scenerio:
2. Introduction This scenerio depicts the struggle between the Western Allies and the Axis. There is no Eastern Front presented here. The scenerio is based on the Divisional level, but Brigades and Regimental units are also present. All Air Units are presented as Wing/Group Level and Naval units are Capital Ships and Destroyers are at Flotilla/Squadron level. This Scenerio is huge (over 1000 units presented for both Allied and Axis) and uses only the OPART 300 system of play. As the German player you will face Poland, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, France, England, Greece, Yugoslavia and finally America. The OOB for the Scandanavian sequence is based upon Brigade/Regiment/Battalion level. {The OOB for both sides is based upon Eric Nygaard's excellent Weserubung scenerio.} This will be a very difficult operation for the Axis player. There will be limited sea-lift capability and your re-inforcements will be piecemeal during the course of play. 3. Forces 3.1. Withdraw
ALL Other forces will not be withdrawn from play and will remain for the duration of play. Certain units will be reconstituted (i.e., certain British, German, American, and Commonwealth). No Captial ships, or fortress units. 3.2. OOB The OOB for the German player may be a bit confusing. The inner color will change during each sequence of events. This is to present the entire German order of battle for each of the major German offensives. The background color for German units will differ.
All units remaining after the Barbarossa offensive date will be White and Black over grey. All units will be withdrawn during the course of play by the editor and the German player has no power over these sequence of events. This represents the transfer of units to the Eastern Front. German Z-Plan naval units might arrive during the course of play. Turns 30, 75, 110, 130, 160, 190, 220 and 260 are the key turns in which these forces might arrive. The chances of these forces really appearing are from 50% decreasing down as time goes on. 4. GROUND RULES
5. Special units There are some off colored naval units from Poland, Norway, and Holland. These units will not be removed from play during the Axis invasion of their countries. These are units that were able to escape from German forces and later sided with the Allies at a later date. If they are destroyed by the German palyer, they will not reappear. |
