OPERATION Ethnic CleansingBosnian War Errupts1. Background The Bosnian war has errupted to add to the year long conflict that is raging next door in Croatia. The civil war has now turned nasty and vicious as it now pitches two reluctant allies of convience , the Bosnian Mulims and Bosnian Croats against the Bosnian Serbs who have been left with most of the former JNA armoury and large number of volunteers from Mother Serbia itself. Paramilitaries and mercanaries roam the battlefield , commiting atrocities on both sides and expelling the local population from their homes. This vicious battle catches the attention of the western powers and is certain to lead to some sort of intervention by them on the Muslim side. The Russians have a close relationship with the Serbs and in all likelyhood will support them militarily to some extent. The Serbs in Croatia who have carved out their own state within Croatia called Republika Srpska Krajina have sent a portion of their army in support of their Bosnian Serb brothers and also to secure their flanks against hostile Muslim Forces in Bosnia. This battle looms as a life and death struggle with both sides as only total victory will suffice. |
