Turning Point The German Sixth Army and Fourth Panzer Army tries to wrestle the city of Stalingrad from the Russian 62nd Army and reinforcements from the Secret Reserve Armies. Date: September 13th, 1942. Location: Stalingrad. Map scale: 400 meters per hex. Time scale: 2 turns per day. Unit scale: Battalion Turns: 128. Signifigant Events. The German player recieves an increase in theater recon if he captures Maymayev Kurgan objective. This is lost if he later looses posession. He reduces the overall Russian supply by capturing the extreme Northern and Southern supply points. There are numerous unit withdrawls for the German side as well. The Russian player recieves T-34 tanks at the still functioning Dzerhezinski Tractor Factory. These represent repaired and new new tanks built there. these reinforcements will cease if the German player controls the factory objective. The epic struggle in the city on the Volga. Hundreds of guns expending vast quantitys of scarce ammunition usher in a new day on the outskirts of Stalingrad. But this is no ordinary day - not that any day on the Eastern Front is ever "ordinary". The Stukas are already at work raising fresh black plumes above the pallor of the doomed city. And in Gorodishche and Peschanka, German infantry anxiously await the end of the end of the barrage which will signal the start of their final advance. Hitler has decreed that Stalin's namesake on the Volga must fall, and ever faithfull to the Fuehrer's command, the tired Sixth Army lurches once more to the attack.
