Operation Sunburn (1.0) Fictional Nuclear Civil War In China Turns: 44 Unhappy with the stalemate in Korea, some hot-tempered Chinese generals succeed in a bloody coup. However, most of the people of China were sick of almost 50 years of constant warfare and found a sympathetic ear in many of the smaller isolated military units across the countryside. What came next was a huge rebellion against the larger military units by the people and the smaller sized units in the remote countryside. Outnumbered and poorly led, the generals seek aid from the Soviet Union who is glad to help for reasons kept secret. Driven mad by fear and isolation the generals agree to many hush hush demands of the Soviets. In return, the Soviets agree to turn the Chinese countryside into a testing ground for their new nuclear technology. The result is the use of nuclear weapons to stem the tide of tens of millions of protesters and attacking units on the General's doorstep. Angry, betrayed, and now feeling powerful and vengeful the generals agree to an all-out campaign. They will quiet or burn their populace. The United Nations quickly falls into stalemate over what to do and disentegrates. Led by a terrified Australian and Asian community the world turns to the only other nuclear power in an attempt to stop the madness. In comes the United States. Soon China is a playground full of children with sharp objects. Victory Conditions: Based upon points collected by controlling major cities weighted heavily. The Generals must consolidate control over the countryside and more importantly take control of all ports thus cutting off allid supplies. The allies must gain control of the General's strongholds, the larger cities in the east. Notes: Pay attention to the news at all times, changes in victory conditions will be posted there. The USSR will enter the conflict under certain circumstances. Refugees flood the eastern map and winter weather is arriving. Nuclear and chemical weapons are as common as stars in the sky. The game can end early if certain victory conditions are met after turn 12. So protect those rear areas and consolidate all your points. |
