SIX DAY WAR, June 5 1967: The surprise Israeli air strike went in at 0745hrs on June 5, when most Egyptian aircraft were on the ground and their pilots were at breakfeast.By 1030hrs the Egyptian Airforce had virtually ceased to exist, and with it all chances of Arab victory. The Israeli planes then turned on Syria and Jordon, and destroyed their air cover as well. At 0815hrs Gen.Israel Tal's armored Ugda attacked the Egyptians entrenched at Rafah junction, led by Col.Shmuel Gonen's famous 7th Armored Brigade. The Six Day War as it would be known had began. There has been major changes to the scenario, on turn 14 there is a 65% chance that a cease-fire will take effect as it did in real life, and then I added a 40% chance that two turns later both sides will break the cease-fire causing the game to continue until turn 23. I have played this and achieved a significant Israeli victory. |
