When USA forces occupy Fredricksburg,Va they increase their supply by +15 Scenario by: Bud Windham bud@c-gate.net ************ Oct 1939: The USA, sensing a opportunity with the CSA's ally England embroiled in the latest European war, declares war on the CSA. The Northern papers trumpets that its a war of reunification, but the real reason lies closer to the economical aspect. With dwindling oil production in the North and the overseas market so volatile the USA sees no other course than to secure the oil rich South. Bring them back into the fold so to speak. They open the war with a offensive aimed at the capitol of the CSA, Richmond Virginia. With surprise on there side they hope to bring a swift end to the war and to reunify the country. As luck would have it the I Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia are holding maneuvers in the vicinity of Culpepper, Virginia. Luck it indeed was for the CSA Intellegence service fails to detect the coming USA assault. So, the CSA is taken completly by surprise by the USA assault. The USA Plan calls for a amphibious landing on the Virginia coast east of Richmond. The objective for this force is two fold. One prong will move toward Fredricksburg, Va to link up with USA forces coming from the north and the other prong will strike out for Richmond. With the help of the I Corps ANV, which contains 2 of the best divisions in the CSA army, the USA offensive is halted at the gates of Richmond and turned back. I Corps ANV is virtually destroyed as a fighting force but manages to hold just long enough for reinforcements to arrive on the field. After much blood letting The two great armies pause to lick their wounds and regroup. CSA General Dwight Eisenhower is mentioned several times in dispatches during the battle. He is summoned to Richmond after its over and is given command of The Army of Northern Virginia. He is up and coming and will play an important part in the coming conflicts.
