Lenght: 8 turns. UNIT COLORS Finland white on blue USSR white on red GENERAL OUTLINES The confrontation takes place about 15 kms southeast from the second biggest major city of Finland, Vyborg. Honkaniemi railway station has been occupied by soviet troops and Finnish forces are preparing for the counterattack. Finnish armored forces participated in the Winter war battles for the first time on these fields. FORCES Finnish forces consist of the 4. tank company (6 Vickers) and four infantry battalions supported by two artillery batteries. Soviet troops consist of one tank brigade and three infantry battalions. OBJECTIVES Finnish forces have three primary goals to achieve: 1. destroy heavy tank and infantry forces in the crossroad of railroad and Jukkala road and occupy those hexes, 2. take over the Honkala railway station, 3. Take over the hexes next to Selanmaki. Soviet troops are trying to defend their conquests. ACTUAL HISTORICAL EVENTS A good summary of this battle can be read at http://www.winterwar.com/Battles/ Naykkijaervi.htm CONTACT INFORMATION This is my first scenario, so I would appreciate comments. One problem I am aware is that map and time scales are unrealistic. Scenario design by Jarno Tuimala, Jarno.Tuimala@Helsinki.Fi |
