MIRACLE OVER VISTULA 1920 16.08.1920 Scale = 5km/hex, half day turn divison, regiment author: MarW m.wojtkowiak@wp.pl On the 4th of July in 1920 the Bolshevik leader Tuhachevsky issued the following order: "For West ! Over the dead body of the white Poland there is the way to the wordly fire." In August, isolated Poland, deprived of any help from Europe, heroically shows resistance to the Bolshevik army. which division were nerby Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It happened when Bolshevik Army assigns forces for the ultimate impact. On the 16.08.1920 began a very risky offensive operation. It was authorized by marshal Jozef Pilsudzki. The 5th and the 1st Polish armies forced the Bolshevik armies to fight on the Wkra river and on Wisla river. From the South the counteroffensive set off, which then moved in the rear of the Bolshevik Army, cutting off suply of the munitions. On the 18.08.1920 the surrended Bolshevik troops were defeated.
