Jaroslaw Flis flis@if.uj.edu.pl Poland 1920 - scenario No 2 Date: April-June 1920 Location: Ukraine Map scale: 50km per hex Time scale: Half-week turns Unit Scale: Brigade/Division Length: 20 Turns UNIT COLORS: POLAND: Grey on Green - Legion divisions Dark Green on Green - Galician units Green on Green - Kongresowka units Black on Green - Poznan units Blue on Green - Haller's Army Green on Dark Green - cavalry Yellow on Blue - Ukrainian Army BOLSHEVIK RUSSIA: White on Red - SW Front infantry White on Lt Red - SW Front cavalry Black on Lt Red - 1st Cavalry Army Blue on Yellow - Ukrainian Sich Rifles SIGNIFICANT EVENTS: Russia wins if its units capture Lviv. Ukrainian Army gets reinforcements as long as Polish Player holds Kyiv. Ukrainian Army deserts if Polish Player can't capture Kyiv before 27th May. It gets 100VP for Russian. Some Polish units are withdrawn after capturing Kyiv. Polish reinforcements in June don't appear if Kyiv remains in Russian hands. Russian 1st Cavalry Army is inactive until turn 9. Each Russia-controlled Ukrainian Sich Rifle Brigade has a chance to desert in turn 1. All of them desert in turn 2, if Poles don't attack them. HOUSE RULES: No rail movement on enemy controlled terrain. *** Polish troops, supported by Ukrainian ally, run toward Kyiv. Meanwhile famous Cavalry Army approach from Caucasus... Polish Army Mosaic Divisions 1st-3rd have been based on Legion Brigades, volunteer formations fighting during WWI against Russia. Divisions 4th-6th and 21st have been organized based on regiments of Autro-Hungarian army from Galicia. Divisions 7th-10th have been organized in Kongresowka - Central Poland, which was part of the old Russian Empire before WWI. Divisions 11th-13th and 18th have been organized in France during WWI. Divisions 14th-17th based on units organized in Poznan province - Western Poland, which was part of German Empire before WWI. 1st and 2nd Lithuanian-Belorussian Divisions was formations based on Polish volunteers from these countries.
