India-Pakistan war-May 1948-January-1949 *************************************************** Hex=15miles each turn is half a week Pakistan and India gained independance from Great Britian on August 14th.1947. On the morning of 22,October 1947, Pakistani irregulars along with Kashmiri rebels crossed the border into Kashmir, they captured Muzzaffarabad,Domel, and Uri in quick sucession. The Kashmiri troops at Uri kept the rebels and Pakistani irregulars at bay for four days. Their tough resistance eventually saved the valley from plunder. This scenario takes place in May 1948 when India is about to lauch their counter-offensive inorder to drive the Pakistani and Rebel Kashmiri forces out of Kashmir. Special Events: ******************************* 1). If India invades Pakistan proper and captures Jellum, then Pakistan will declare a Jihad-(Holy War) against India, this in turn will allow Pakistan to gain a few more Infantry Rgt's. and increase their replacement level. 2). If India captures the Pakistani Capital there is a 50% chance that Pakistan will surrender, if not then Pakistan will continue to fight but with a dramatically reduced supply. 3). On turn 12 for Pakistan, the Pakistani Government will seek military aid from the Soviet Union, which will allow Pakistan to aqcuire more units such as T-34 tanks and IS-II Heavy tanks. as well as Aircraft from Russia. In reality Pakistan did recieve aid from Russia,America and other nations, but as to the quanity and type of some of this equipment, I was unable to find any concrete amount. India will as well recieve aid from Britian and in return recieve certain units. 4). If Pakistan captures the Kashmiri capital then Kashmir will surrender and all Kashmiri units will withdraw, also their is a 50-55% chance that India will accept a cease-fire, and if that occurs then there is a 65% chance that Pakistan will refuse to accept the cease-fire. |
