Civil War II - Kentucky Front1. Background The War Between the States ended in 1863 with a victory by the CSA. The wounds inflicted by the war, however, were deep and feelings of hostility between the two sides continued. Shortly after the end of WWII in 1943 it once again flared. Both countries had remained neutral throughout WWII, though the CSA did maintain close relations with Germany. With all of Europe now under Nazi control the USA felt threatened by the nearby Nazi sympathizer. The USA decided to strike first before Hitler turned his gaze to North America. In March of 1946 the USA launched a general assault on the CSA. This scenario models the battles that occurred in the theater defined by the Mississippi River to the west and the Appalacian Mountains to the east. 2. Notes The USA player should drive toward, Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville. It is highly unlikely that he will be able to take all 3 of these objectives. Capturing 2 should assure a victory and a victory is possible capturing only 1 depending on losses and the status of secondary objectives. Airfields are protected by intrinsic flak. The USA has more numerous forces though their proficiency is not as high as the forces of the CSA. |
