Their plan was to divide the U.S. and British armies and inflict a severe enough defeat to force the Allies to sue for peace. All of the Ninth, First, and part of the Third U.S. Army areas are covered by the map area. 40 U.S. /British and 39 German divisions are included. The time frame covers the period from the first German attack until the Americans had restored the lines to the original defensive positions, completely eliminating the Bulge.
