THE SIEGE OF HONGKONG IN 1954 Chinese attack against the British troops to capture Hongkong. Date: Location: Hongkong Map scale: 2.5km per hex Time scale: Half-day Turns Unit scale: Comp/Batt/Reg Length: 28 turns UNIT COLORS GREAT BRITTAIN Air Force - Light Blue on Brown Navy - Dark Blue on Brown Hongkong Division - Brown on Brown SAS - Black/Red on Brown Expeditionary Force - Green on Brown CHINA China Army - White on Red Red Guards - Black on Red SIGNIFICANT EVENTS If China captures the Water Plants, British will surrender. If British troops recapture it, they don't surrender. Chinese transport capacity will be decrease by the British Airplanes and submarines. British transport capacity will increase. ******************************** Prelude to battle In this case, china was victorious in Korea. Many UN divisions were destroyed. After that victory, china wanted to be the boss of East-Asia. The Next step is Hongong. The Opposing Forces China China had great losses in Korea, and he must stationed his best troops in Korea. And he must station many troops in different places, because he is worry because of a probably revolution. He had only three badly trained divisions to capture Hongkong. But he organized an Army named Red Guards. This is a well equipped division with quite new Soviet Equipment. Great-Brittain After the loss of Korea GB had only a few troops in this region.Thay had in Hongkong only one Division.But a wall equipped and trained division. They organized the Far East Army. And it's ready to send to battle. Strategy China China didn't wanted to attack now, but he must attack before the British Far East Army arrive to Hongkong. The Red Guards are far, so they will come later.The first objective is the water plants. Whithout these, the british couldn't continue the fight. China must conquer Hongkong in a week, because then the Far East Army will surely arrive. Great Brittain They had made four defense lines, and they hope, that they can stop the chinese troops. They are waiting for the arrival of the Far East Army. Thay have a gany naval units, and they hope that this navy can stop the chinese.
