The scenario page has been taken down for personal reasons. It may reappear in some future incarnation if the interest is compelling enough. Thanks to all down the years who enjoyed my work... Daniel" BRAUNSCHWEIG Operations HERON & EDELWEISS 1942 Combined German Assault On Stalingrad and the Caucasus version 7.1 Not Programmed Opponent play UNIT COLOURS AXIS SOVIET Situation July 22, 1942 Hoth's 4th Pz A has just crossed the Don at Tsimlanskaya and is about to breakout towards Stalingrad and Astrakhan in Operation Heron. Paulus's 6th Army is attempting to clear the Soviets from the Don bend by effecting a battle of encirclement. Die-hard NKVD fanatics defend Rostov against the advance of the German 17th Army across the Don, and Kleist's 1st Panzer Army is across the Don at Manychskaya about to plunge southwards for the Caucasus with the opening of Operation Edelweiss. Some German reinforcement options are made automatic in this version, others can be released with 11th Army in the Crimea; as such, this represents a "maximum effort" scenario for the Germans. Players wishing to play a strictly historical scenario may trigger a Theatre Option (German player) on turn 1 and have all such "maximum effort" boosts removed.
