ARMAGEDDON 2000Version 2.3 1. HISTORY Since the dismantling in 1990 of the Soviet Union and the loss of its colonies in Eastern Europe, two factions of the everlasting nomenklatura struggled in the comfortable corridors of the Kremlin: the "reformists", headed by Yeltsin, and the former KGB/military faction. While the "reformists" saw in the liberalism of the Russian economy the propspect of (self) enrichment, their opponants were just as eager to take their place and restore the prestige of mighty Russia. On August 9, 1999, Yeltsin strangely fired his new and conveniently puppet prime minister, the already forgotten Sergei Stepashin, to call Vladimir Putin who is nothing but ... the head of the renamed KGB (the FSB) and of the State Security Council. Furthermore,Yeltsin, who never previously considered to step down, suddenly designated Putin as his successor. This silent "coup d'état" was the token that Yeltsin's faction had finally lost the battle for power. The year 1999 saw a strategic cooperation treaty between Russia and China with demilitarization of their border, the tightening of cooperation with Iran, Iraq and Syria, the update of Russian ICBMs (SS-27 Topol-M), the commision of the super missile-battlecruiser "Peter the Great", a forgery of terrorist bombing in Moskow to justify the second war against the Chechen "terrorists", a massing of 100.000 troops in Chechnia (the size of Massachussets). Although the strategic forces were continuously updated -Russia still have 10.000 effective nuclear warheads and 59 nuclear submarines- the land forces were not in a state of readiness; but the Chechnia war took care of this. On January 1, 2000, the "Tsar" Yeltsin resigned in favor of Putin, in exchange of a decree of total immunity issued the following day. The coup was completed. Russian imperialism can wake up. 2. SCENARIO Russia with its allies, especially Belarus and Ukraine, launch on April 4th, 2000 the long planned invasion of Europe from Southern Turkey up to Northern Scandinavia . Meanwhile and not figured in this scenario, China told North Korea to attack its Southern counterpart to drag there US reinforcements. The US reinforcement in Europe will consist of the 5th Army. Yugoslavia will try to reestablish the "great Serbia" and attack Bosnia and Croatia. Iran, Irak and Syria will send expeditionary forces against Turkey, and perhaps beyond. 3. MAJOR EVENTS
