Ohio StateAirborne Operations In IndianaVersion: 01e Requires Hex Side River Custom Execution File: HSR TOAW-COW v01e.exe (or higher revision) included in the archive 1. Antagonists
2. Introduction Ohio State was originally designed as an entrant to the Blitz's 10 turn "short scenario" challenge. It has been revised for hex side rivers (HSR) using a modified execution file (HSR TOAW-COW v01e.exe) and graphics originally developed by Jarek Flis. This scenario is designed specifically for solitaire play by an Earthling (Force 2, Ohio State) against the Artificial Opponent with Programmed Intelligence, aka AOwPI. It is, however, also fully functional for PBM matches. 3. Situation Following the Interstate Battery Wars of the 1980s, thee Ohio State Coalition felt slighted that more territory was not acquired during the terminal negotiations. To rectify this injustice, Ohio State has planned an invasion of Indiana using the Fort Wayne - Notre Dame - Valparaiso corridor as the direct path to the steel mills located along Lake Michigan. To support the invasion, Ohio State has ordered a heavy Airborne Regiment to attack, and destroy, infrastructure deep behind the Indiana defense lines. It is not the intent of Ohio State to capture and hold objectives, rather the airborne forces are ordered to destroy as many objectives as possible. Creating havoc is the objective. The success of the airborne attack will be gauged on the amount of destruction accomplished. 4. Objective Values Target Victory Points Port Indiana 50 Aerodrome # 3 30 Lew Wallace 10 Factory #1 5 Hobart 50 Camp Victor 40 Crown Point 50 Scientists 10 Power Plant #9 5 Aerodrome #10 30 Gary 50 Factory #99 5 Glen Point 5 Aerodrome #9 30 Merrillville 50 5. Airborne Mechanized Units Note that only the infantry portion of a mechanized airborne unit will make the initial drop. The mechanized units (tanks, transports, vehicles, etc) will only join the unit after the unit is connected to a supply point. All supply points on the game map are able to supply both sides. |
