FROM KURSK TO KIEVEastern Front 1943Version: 1.0 PBEM only This scenario is best played with options No Borders on and High Supply off. 1. INTRODUCTION This scenario starts just before the battle of Kursk is fought, featuring the ensuing fight for Ukraine. The German player has the option not to launch the attack on Kursk, however he has a 115 shock bonus only for the first turn (representing the accumulation of material assembled for the projected offensive) and if he manage to take Kursk (142,85) the Soviet player will suffer a 75 Shock penalisation for 8 turns, virtually destroying any chance of victory for him. So it is up to the German player he he wants to risk that attack or if he wants to play a defensive option. The Soviet player will get a major victory for achieving the historical outcome and not getting too many casualties. 2. DESIGN NOTES
