VIETNAM COMBAT OPERATIONS 1969VOLUME 11: TET 69 COUNTEROFFENSIVEVersion: 2.09 PO: PAVN/PLAF PBEM: No 1. Background This volume is the eleventh in a planned series of 24 scenarios trying to recreate in detail the various campaigns of the Vietnam War between 8 March 1965 (the landing of the first two US ground battalions) and 30 April 1975 (The Fall of Saigon). On 23 February 1969, the Communist forces launched a new country-wide offensive that failed to achieve significant results as Allied operations continued unabbatted under the new 'One War' concept. The human player will earn VPs by capturing objective flags on map but also by fulfilling a number of missions during the game (for example by conducting combat operations, securing certain areas, establishing bases and CIDG camps etc...). A chronology of events has been included in this manual, it serves both as a guideline for the player and to explain the missions he will have to conduct to earn VPs. |
